The mapped measure - cumulative share of ambulatory physicians, NPs, and PAs who have received a payment under the Medicare or Medicaid EHR Incentive Program - is based upon an unduplicated count of physicians, NPs, and PAs who have received a payment under the Medicare or Medicaid EHR Incentive Program and an estimate for the number of ambulatory physicians, NPs, and PAs in active practice. The estimated number of providers per county is derived by ONC from an analysis of market research data collected by SK&A. SK&A data include all health care providers, not just those providers who are eligible to participate in the CMS EHR Incentive Programs. Accordingly, this figure may under-represent the true share of eligible providers actually participating in a given county.
