July 2015.

Electronic report to Immunization Information Services (IIS) was an optional measure for participants at stage 1 of the Medicare EHR Incentive Program, and a required measure for stage 2. Since 2011, electronic IIS reporting among eligible professionals see Notes participating in the Medicare EHR Incentive Program has risen by almost half. Concurrently, the percentage of professionals whose local jurisdiction cannot receive electronic message dropped by half.

See Quick Stat #49 for 2014 rates split out by stage of meaningful use.

N = Number of Medicare participating professionals who vaccinate. See Notes below for more information.

Meaningful Use Program Year Electronic reporting to IIS Exclusion claimed because local jurisdiction could not receive electronic message
2011 (N=43k) 51% 20%
2012 (N=125k) 56% 16%
2013 (N=157k) 63% 12%
2014 (N=142k) 72% 10%

Denominators for each year exclude eligible professionals who claimed an exclusion for the immunization registry reporting measure because they did not vaccinate patients during the reporting period. Providers who did not select the measure are not included in the trends.
