Update on the Adoption of Health IT and Related Efforts to Facilitate the Electronic Use and Exchange of Health Information

This report (1) describes the specific actions taken by the federal government and private entities to facilitate the adoption of a nationwide system for the electronic use and exchange of health information; (2) describes the barriers for such a nationwide system; and, (3) contains recommendations to achieve such a nationwide system.
