Interoperability a Hot Topic at the ONC Annual Meeting

Peter Garrett | December 12, 2012

A “hot topic” at today’s ONC Annual Meeting is interoperability, and how interoperability can improve patient care. Two of the meeting’s panelists for the HIE and Interoperability: Sharing Information to Improve Patient Care session, have posted blog entries today with their thoughts on the subject.

Justin Barnes, Vice President of Marketing, Industry & Government Affairs at Greenway, posted a blog entry earlier today on the Health IT Buzz Blog: Broadening the Nature of Health Care Interoperability.

John Halamka, M.D., Chief Information Officer of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Chairman of the New England Healthcare Exchange Network, Co-Chair of the HIT Standards Committee, a full Professor at Harvard Medical School, and a practicing Emergency Physician also posted a blog entry, “Interoperability Gets Real,” on his Life as a Healthcare CIO blog Exit Disclaimer as well as the Health IT Buzz Blog.

Check out these two blog posts, and remember to tune into the ONC Annual Meeting live webcast. Also, follow the action on Twitter (#ONC2012 Exit Disclaimer) and LinkedIn Exit Disclaimer.
