Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  1.  Q: Is the budget of $425k for each year or for the total of the 5 years?

A: The available funding of $425,000 is for the budget period beginning August 30, 2024 and ending August 29, 2025.

As noted on page 8 of the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), funding of future non-competing continuation awards is conditioned on the availability of funds, satisfactory progress by the recipient, and an awarding office determination that continued funding of the award is in the best interests of the Government.

  2. Q: Is there a proportion of private primary care vs FQHC that you expect to see?

A: The NOFO does not specify that data must be collected from a specific mix of settings. However, The Technical Approach section of the project narrative states that “This section should include discussion on how the applicant will collect data that represent diverse range of practice settings (e.g. rural vs. urban, specialty type, practice group size, etc).”

In addition, a Performance Goal listed on page 7 of the NOFO is to “produce national level estimates on key health IT measures”.  A focus on a specific population may impact the scores assigned in the Merit Review Criteria, and specifically scores related to reviewers’ view on whether the technical approach “demonstrates methods consistent with the goals to be accomplished,” that the approach will result in “high quality and valid data that reflects physicians' perspectives,” and that the approach will “result in wide use of the results by policymakers and researchers.”
