Standards Version Advancement Process (SVAP) – Approved Standards for 2026

The Standards Version Advancement Process (SVAP) permits health IT developers to voluntarily update health IT products certified under the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) Health IT Certification Program to newer versions of adopted standards and implementation specifications. ONC has established an annual process to receive public input on eligible standards and implementation specifications that could be adopted through SVAP. ONC has approved the following standards and implementation specifications versions for use in the ONC Health IT Certification Program. Health IT developers can begin voluntarily incorporating the approved standards and implementation specifications into their Certified Health IT Modules 60 days after this posting (August 29, 2026). To further support implementation of the 2026 approved standards, ONC will update all appropriate test data and tools.
