Privacy and security of health information are of utmost importance in today's technologically advancing world. The increased use of electronic health records as well as smart phones, tablets and patient portals are changing how we look at our healthcare. The laws and regulations that protect our information also need to change. In this video, Bill "Dr. HIPAA" Braithwaite, MD, PhD, discusses the background and current status of the regulations for protecting the privacy, confidentiality and security of health information.
