MU Stage 2 replaced three MU Stage 1 objectives.These objectives were replaced based on a MU Stage 2 proposal by the Health Information Technology Policy Committee (HITPC), recommending that patients (or their authorized representative[s]) be able to view and download their health information online (i.e., Internet/web-based). The replaced objectives consist of the following:
- The Core and Menu objective that requires EPs, EHs, and CAHs to provide patients with an electronic copy of their health information
- The EH/CAH Menu objective that provides patients with an electronic copy of their discharge instructions
- The EP Menu objective that provides patients with timely electronic access to their health information (including lab results, problem list, medication lists, and allergies) within 4 business days of the information being available to the EP
