Since 2014, the American Hospital Association Information Technology Supplement has tracked hospital engagement in interoperable exchange. The number of hospitals that engaged in each activity has continued to increase from 2023 to 2025, with 76% of hospitals engaging in all four measured interoperability domains. Differences in all measured activities between 2021 and 2022 are statistically significant at p<0.05. Between 2022 and 2023, hospital engagement in each activity remained stable. Rates of hospital engagement in electronically sending, receiving, and finding information increased significantly between 2023 and 2025 (p<0.05), while rates of integrating information remained stable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
