1. Tell us about some of the projects or initiatives that you lead.
I have a diverse portfolio, spanning development and implementation of specific policies around information sharing, supporting enforcement of the ONC Health IT Certification Program’s regulations, and supporting the health IT safety work spearheaded by ONC’s clinical division.

Health IT has become integral to health care delivery and this trend has accelerated since the passage of the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act of 2009. Hundreds of thousands of physician offices, hospitals, and health systems now use ONC-certified health IT to store, process, access, exchange, and use electronic health information (EHI), setting the groundwork for nationwide interoperability. The draft Plan is a comprehensive and strategic effort developed by ONC in collaboration with more than 25 federal organizations.
