{"id":5967,"date":"2014-08-04T09:30:02","date_gmt":"2014-08-04T13:30:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.healthit.gov\/buzz-blog\/?p=5967"},"modified":"2026-01-06T05:12:17","modified_gmt":"2026-01-06T05:12:17","slug":"health-it-policy-standards-committees-workgroups-onc-achieve-goals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/healthit.gov\/blog\/insights-updates\/health-it-policy-standards-committees-workgroups-onc-achieve-goals\/","title":{"rendered":"New Health IT Policy and Standards Committees&#8217; Workgroups Help ONC Achieve Goals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As part of our efforts to streamline the work of the <a title=\"Federal Advisory Committees (FACAs)\" href=\"https:\/\/healthit.gov\/hitac\/\/\">Federal Advisory Committees (FACAs)<\/a> (the <a title=\"Health IT Policy Committee\" href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/HITPolicy\">Health IT Policy Committee (HITPC)<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a title=\"Health IT Standards Committee\" href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/HITStandards\">Health IT Standards Committee (HITSC)<\/a>) and their workgroups, we have been taking steps to make sure that their work aligns with our strategic direction and our policy priorities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to the work of the FACAs and their workgroups, we have seen significant improvement in the adoption and use of certified electronic health record technology. It\u2019s through their hard work that we\u2019ve been able to better support collaboration across the entire health IT and health care communities. Depending on the scope and charge of the work being requested, we know there may be some circumstances when we will need to establish task forces or subgroups to support their work. The following two groups have recently been established in this vein to provide rapid feedback to ONC:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><b>JASON Task Force: <\/b>The JASON<b> <\/b>task force is a short term joint HITPC and HITSC task force established to analyze and synthesize feedback on the JASON report\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Policy co-chair:\u00a0 Micky Tripathi<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Standards co-chair: David McCallie<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><b>Interoperability and Health Information Exchange &#8211;
