Apply to be considered for one of the ONC&#8217;s federal advisory committee workgroups now through <a style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\" href=\"https:\/\/onc-faca.altaruminstitute.net\/apply\">ONC&#8217;s&nbsp;application database<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">.<\/span><wp-block data-block=\"core\/more\"><\/wp-block><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ONC is currently restructuring the workgroups of its <a href=\"https:\/\/healthit.gov\/hitac\/\/federal-advisory-committees-facas\">Federal Advisory Committees (FACAs)<\/a>; the <a href=\"https:\/\/healthit.gov\/hitac\/\">Health IT Policy Committee (HITPC)<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/healthit.gov\/hitac\/\">Health IT Standards Committee (HITSC)<\/a>.&nbsp; This effort is aimed at ensuring the work of the committees guide and aligns with ONC\u2019s strategic direction and policy priorities into the next decade.&nbsp; It also serves as an opportunity to support collaboration across the committees and to build on the workgroups\u2019 diverse membership.&nbsp; We are looking for new members that represent important perspectives and areas of expertise and add to the discussions by engaging in strategic, innovative thinking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Workgroups typically meet virtually twice a month for at least three hours per month to deliberate and make recommendations to their respective advisory committees.&nbsp; By participating in one of our federal advisory committee workgroups, you will have the opportunity to be a part of what has been called one of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/healthaffairs.org\/blog\/2012\/02\/02\/trusting-government-a-tale-of-two-federal-advisory-groups\/\">most open and transparent<\/a> committees in government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are interested in becoming a member of a HITPC or HITSC workgroup, please submit an application using&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/onc-faca.altaruminstitute.net\/apply\">ONC\u2019s application database<\/a>.&nbsp; ONC will use this database to identify and select members of the newly identified workgroups.&nbsp; To be assured consideration, please apply by <em><strong>Friday, June 6, 2014<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HITPC workgroups<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Health IT strategy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Health IT implementation, usability, and safety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interoperability and health information exchange<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advanced health models and meaningful use<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Privacy and security<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consumer perspective and engagement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HITSC workgroups<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Steering committee<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Semantic standards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Content standards<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transport and security<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Architecture, services, and application program interfaces (APIs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implementation, certification, and testing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All committee and workgroup deliberations are held publicly, promoting transparency throughout their recommendations process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are extremely fortunate to have had the support of extraordinary experts who generously volunteer their time and expertise to better our health care system and nation\u2019s health through the use of health IT and we expect this to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><b>If you are interested in joining this incredible group, please submit an application using&nbsp;<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/onc-faca.altaruminstitute.net\/apply\"><b>ONC&#8217;s application database<\/b><\/a><b>. <\/b>If you have additional questions, please contact Michelle Consolazio at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:michelle.consolazio@hhs.gov\">michelle.consolazio@hhs.gov<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Want to make a difference?
