This year\u2019s event will be held virtually over three consecutive \u201cForum Fridays\u201d on September 9, 16 and 23.<\/p>\n<p>Come join us to hear from industry, government leaders, and ONC staff about the progress made over the past year in health IT. We\u2019ll discuss how ONC and stakeholders are working together to meet today\u2019s challenges, while laying the groundwork for a future digital health care system that advances health care delivery, public health, and research to make the nation\u2019s health better through the use of health IT.<\/p>\n<p>Each \u201cForum Friday\u201d will focus on a specific area within health IT that ONC leads on behalf of HHS, serving as the secretary\u2019s principal advisor on the development, application and use of health IT.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What\u2019s in store each day?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>September 9<\/strong>: Day 1 will focus on health IT data standards, including an emphasis on <strong>public health.<\/strong> You will hear about data modernization initiatives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), advancing FHIR API standards, and initiatives launched by the HHS to train the next generation of the nation\u2019s public health informatics workforce!<\/p>\n<p><strong>September 16<\/strong>: Day 2 of the Tech Forum will showcase how the health IT standards and experience from real-world implementations are guiding <strong>innovation <\/strong>activities in industry and government.\u00a0 We have an exciting slate of accomplished experts who are leveraging health IT in areas such as clinical decision support, patient-generated health data, and social determinants of health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>September 23<\/strong>: Day 3 will be devoted to ONC\u2019s certification and testing activities, focused on both the upcoming compliance deadlines for the <strong>ONC Cures Act Final Rule <\/strong>and on testing tools to support rapid adoption of advanced health IT standards. ONC staff will provide an overview of the resources available to developers to meet the requirements in the Cures Act Final Rule, including Real World Testing.
