The Health Information Technology Advisory Committee (HITAC) consists of a dedicated group of experts who volunteer their time and expertise to provide recommendations on ONC policies and programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2019, the HITAC delivered recommendations<\/a> to the National Coordinator focused on the:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. ONC proposed rule for the 21st<\/sup> Century Cures Act<\/a>, in the areas of Information Blocking, Conditions and Maintenance of Certification, Health IT for the Care Continuum, and the U.S. Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI);<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Proposals on the Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA) Draft 2<\/a>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. USCDI<\/a> Data Element Promotion Model; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Priority uses of health IT<\/a> and related standards and implementation specifications.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    ONC is considering these recommendations in developing ONC\u2019s upcoming 21st<\/sup> Century Cures Act: Interoperability, Information Blocking, and ONC Health IT Certification Program final rule, TEFCA implementation, and our standards work. We greatly appreciate the volunteer hours and expertise that the HITAC members contribute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    On January 15, 2020, at our next HITAC meeting, we will discuss what the HITAC will work on in 2020.
